Lane Austin Ferrell, of Harrisburg (formerly of Eldorado), passed away at his home on Friday, January 31, 2025.
Lane was born on April 14, 1985, in Harrisburg, Illinois, to Clinton and Catherine Ferrell. He was a graduate of Eldorado High School, Class of 2003.
Lane is survived by his two beloved sons, Clinton Lane Ferrell of Harrisburg and Coleton Vincent Mueller of Carbondale; his brothers, Justin Ferrell of Springfield, Illinois, and Jake (Lacy) Ferrell of Des Moines, Iowa; his sister, Kylee Ferrell of Hillsboro, Alabama; and many cherished nieces and nephews: Brayden, Austin, Andrew, Taylor, Aiden, Lillian, Kamdyn, Harper, Katherine, Landri, Coleton, and Jordan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clinton Ferrell; his paternal grandparents, Elaine Myers and Dale Ferrell; and his maternal grandparents, Wilburn and Violet Parks.
Lane found his greatest joy and purpose in being a father to Clint and Cole, whom he loved dearly—and who loved him just as much. He was at his best inside the wrestling ring, where he was known by fans and colleagues throughout the United States as Lane Austin, a passionate and well-respected pro wrestling referee.
Through life’s challenges, Lane held fast to his faith. His kindness, loyalty, and the love he showed to family and friends will leave a lasting legacy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado. A celebration of life service will follow, with his brother, Rev. Jake Ferrell, officiating. In accordance with his wishes, Lane will be cremated.
