Lillie Jane Watters, 88. resident of Old Shawneetown, IL passed away Friday, May 3, 2024 at Eldorado Nursing and Rehabilitation. Lillie was born May 24, 1935 in Shawneetown to the late Raleigh and Nannie (Krikie) Watters. Lillie worked at Pearce Hospital for many years in the kitchen and later in nursing facilities also as a cook. She loved spending time with her family. Every Sunday she would cook for her whole family at her home in Old Shawneetown. She was proud to have spent many years cooking for others from her work in the nursing home to her weekly Sunday dinners with her family. She never missed a holiday or birthday celebration with her family. She absolutely adored her cat Junior. Lillie is survived by a son: Roger Watters of Eldorado, grandchildren: Amanda Clark, Josh (Emily) Watters, Melissa (James) Watters, Stacy (Brandon) Harner, great grandchildren: McKenzie (Jacky) Baker, Halleigh Watters, Graecyn Watters, Reese Watters, Gatlin Watters, Tyler Lester, Maylee Lester, Annie Clark, Abby Clark, great great granddaughter: Ava Lynn Baker, and some great friends: Dayla, Wayne, Ina and Suzy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother: Lloyd Watters, a daughter-in-law: Joyce Watters, a grandson-in-law: Garrett Clark and a special friend Jack Barnes. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, May 13, 2024 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. Blake Bradley officiating. Visitation will be Monday 10:00 am to service time.
