Linda Gale Lane Hanks of Harrisburg, IL went to be with her Lord on January 23, 2025. Linda was born December 1, 1962. She was baptized at the age of 10. Although she did not affiliate with a church, she was a lifelong believer in Jesus’ love, generosity, and prayer. In 1980 she graduated from Cave In Rock High School. On September 11, 1982, she married the love of her life Steve (George) Hanks, and they raised two children, Jeremiah and Mallory. She was a very loving, hands-on mother who supported and attended every ballgame, school event and swim meet. After raising her children, she returned to school, earning a BS degree from SIU along with an RN degree in 1998. She worked many years as an assistant cook at Golden Circle Senior Citizens Harrisburg site. She was a loving and kind wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and appreciated her. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, George, her son Jeremiah (Hannah) Hanks, Mallory (Matt) Rose. Her grandchildren Hadley and Hunter Hanks and Aliza and Erilyn Rose, her mother, Claudia Kramer of Carbondale, her brothers Jim (Bub) Lane, Brad (Diana) Lane of Harrisburg, Matthew Adams of Paducah, KY and Mark (Ida) Adams of Creal Springs, IL, her mother-in-law Karen Hanks of Marion, IL. She was preceded in death by her father, James and stepmother, Brenda Lane, stepfather, Robert Kramer, sister-in-law, Helen Lane, and father-in-law, Tony Hanks. Her family appreciates each and every person who reached out to us with love, prayer, cards, visits, and support during our time of sorrow and grief. Thank you and may God bless you.
