Loretta L. (Henshaw) Cheek

Loretta L. Cheek, 82, of Eldorado, Illinois, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 1st, 2020.  She was born on August 11th, 1937 in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late James R. And Mary Lucille (Babb) Henshaw.  Loretta married Harrell E. Cheek on the 7th of February in 1953.  Harrell preceded Loretta in death on February 2nd in the year 2005.  Loretta for many years was a cook at both Pearce and Ferrell Hospitals in Eldorado.  She was Baptist by faith.  Loretta is survived by two daughters, Cathy Bradley of Evansville, Indiana and Mary Ellen Cheek of Eldorado; one son, Bobbie Gene Cheek also of Eldorado; two brothers, Larry Henshaw of Norris City and James R. Henshaw Jr. of St. Augustine, Florida; two sisters, Edna Robbins of Jacksonville, Florida and Brenda Kalbfleisch of Chatham; nine grandchildren, Bobbie Cheek, Billie Cheek, Meredith Cheek, Shawn Bradley, Shannon Bradley, Alison (Bradley) Martin, Chrystal Braddock, Tiana Sutton, and  Brian Molloy; several great grandchildren.  Visitation for Loretta will be held on Friday, August 7th from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado.  The Reverend Russell Helton will officiate with burial at Lindale Cemetery near Eldorado.  Donations in Loretta’s memory may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois.  Due to Covid-19, social distancing and masks are required.
