Marilyn Esther (Graul) Smith Obituary

Marilyn Esther Smith, 83, of Harrisburg, and a longtime resident of Eldorado, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 23, 2026. She was born on September 21, 1942, in Lexington, Kentucky, to the late William J. and Anita (Kimmel) Graul. Marilyn married John Robert “J.R.” Smith, who survives. Marilyn was a devoted member of the Lutheran Church in Lexington, Kentucky. She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures and especially enjoyed swimming, sewing, cooking, traveling, reading, and gardening. Her warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her husband, Marilyn is survived by her two daughters, Meredith Renee (Brad) McDonald of Cincinnati and Denise (Curtis) Turner of St. Louis; and her two grandchildren, Tyler and Logan McDonald. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Dr. William J. Graul III and Jackie Judge. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado, with Rev. Aaron Phelps officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
