Obituary

Marlene C. Mills, 87, resident of Harrisburg, formally of Equality passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the Wabash Christian Village. Marlene was born January 3, 1935 in Eldorado to the late Otto and Beatrice (Johnson) Ballard. She married James Mills who preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Kateri Catholic Church. Marlene is survived by two sons: James Mills of Shawneetown, Jeffery (Chris) Mills of Shawneetown, a daughter: Carol Mills of Springfield, a brother: Dewey (Nina Patton) Johnson of Eldorado, a sister: Marieta (Russell) Hammonds of Olney, three grandchildren: Caleb Mills of Shawneetown, Kelsey (Austin) Beaty of Champaign, Kristen Mills of Edwardsville and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers: Bob Ballard and Donald Ballard. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2023 at St. Peters Cemetery in Waverly, Kentucky. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery, there will be no visitation.
