Mary L. Allen, 88, resident of Carmi, longtime former resident of Eldorado, passed away at Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Mary was born August 6, 1933 in Eldorado to the late John Arthur and Mary J. (Ganz) Vangampler. She married Delmas Allen who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Alexandria, LA. Prior to retirement she worked for Golden Circle. Mary is survived by four children: Wayne (Connie) Allen of Carmi, John Allen of LA, Karen (Dean) Lotz of St. Peter, Mary Ann (Jody) Parker of Cape Girardeau, a brother: Glen (Faye) Vangampler of Carmi, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two siblings: Arthur Vangampler, Armenia Clements and one grandchild. Funeral services will be at 1:30pm Monday, November 29, 2021 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. Randy Plunkett officiating. Visitation will be 11:00am to service time on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
