Mary M. (Scribner) Rister

Mary M. Rister, 93, longtime resident of Eldorado passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburg, Indiana. Mary was born August 15, 1928 in Troy, TN to the late William C. and Martha (Hardin) Scribner. She married Wilson Rister who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and was baptist by faith. Mary is survived by three sons: Robert (Vicki) Davis of Eldorado, Paul (Sherry) Davis of Omaha, William Davis of Eldorado, a daughter: Mary Ann (Charlie) Curry of Eldorado, a daughter-in-law: Kate Davis, 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son: Michael Davis, 3 brothers: James Scribner, Jerry Scribner, Samuel Scribner and 2 sisters: Martha “Sue” Hooper and Ruth Buckelew. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. Keith McDannel officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
