Mary Jane Stark, 102, resident of Raleigh passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at her residence. Mary was born March 12, 1919 in Wasson, Illinois to the late William Edward and Gertrude Mae (Johnson) Reese. She married William G. Stark who preceded her in death. Prior to retirement Mary worked as an Aid in the State Hospital. She was a member of the Wasson Missionary Baptist Church. Mary is survived by a son: Billy D. (Renee’) Stark of Eldorado, two daughters: Laura Ann Schoon of Eldorado, Lydia Stark of Raleigh, 7 grandchildren: 18 great grandchildren: 20 great great grandchildren, 1 great great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers: Charlie Devine, Roy Devine, John Devine, Orvell Devine, five sisters: Susie Pritchett-Preller, Annie Uknavage, Inez Lewis, Wilda Ann Peel, Charolette Crosby, a granddaughter: Rita Withrow and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Sunday, September 5, 2021 at the Wasson Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Mullins officiating. Burial will be in Rhine Cemetery near Raleigh.
