Mary Rachel Etienne, 92, resident of Eldorado passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Harrisburg Medical Center. Rachel was born May 23, 1931 in Ridgway, Illinois to the late Lawrence and Bertha (Luckett) Drone. On October 30, 1951 she married Clarence E. “Junior” Etienne who preceded her in death February 27, 2022. They were married for over 70 years. Rachel was a life long farmers wife. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eldorado, a member of the St. Mary’s Altar Society, a member of the Eldorado Garden Study Club and a member of Our Lady of Victory Rosary Guild. Rachel is survived by a daughter: Connie (David) Nudo of Raleigh, two sons: Kenny Etienne of Eldorado, Jim (Debbie) Etienne of Harrisburg, grandchildren: Jennifer Nudo of Chicago, Darian Etienne of Conroe, TX, Kirstynn Etienne (A.J. Mercado) of Murray, KY, Bridgette (TJ) Mott of Harrisburg, great grandchildren: Addy Mott, Avery Mott, sisters-in-law: Gloria Etienne of Galatia, Daisy Drone of Montgomery AL, Carol Drone of Murphysboro, Joyce Drone of Ridgway and Nita Drone of Georgia. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by six brothers: Larry Dorne, Tom Drone, Carl Drone, Dale Drone, Martin “Motor” Drone and Chuck Drone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11:00 am Saturday, August 12, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eldorado with Fr. Christian Iwaugwu officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Friday, August 11, 2022 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4:00 pm on Friday. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Eldorado. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
