Melanie Ann Murrie

Melanie Ann Murrie, 62, of Harrisburg, passed away on March 18, 2026, at Ferrell Hospital. She was born on October 7, 1963, in Elgin, Illinois, to the late James E. Murrie and Carrie “Charline” Murrie. Melanie had a deep love for plants and was known for her green thumb, bringing life and beauty wherever she went. She enjoyed music—especially country fried rock—and attended many concerts over the years. A devoted dog lover, Melanie shared her heart with countless canines throughout her life, caring for them with unwavering affection. She is survived by her brother, Mike Murrie of Harrisburg, as well as several cousins and second cousins. In addition to her parents, Melanie was preceded in death by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services at this time.
