Obituary

Roger Allen Grumley, 54, resident of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, July 6, 2020 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. Roger was born September 9, 1965 in Eldorado to the late Eddie and Elsie (Rodgers) Grumley. Roger worked at the Egyptian Health Department for over 30 years as a Community Support Case Manager. He was a member of Star Church in Eldorado. Roger was a volunteer coach of the Pope County Pirates Girls Basketball and Softball teams. Roger was a Illinois High School Certified Official in football and basketball and a member of the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Roger is survived by a daughter: Ashlea Rai Grumley of Marion, a sister: Becky Seely of Ridgway, a niece: Kristi (Ray) Lindsey of Eldorado, an aunt: Vicki Walker of Shawneetown and his grand-dog: Nash. Services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, July 10, 2020 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Barnett and Rev. Aaron Phelps officiating, social distancing rules will be in effect and the use of face coverings is strongly recommended. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 am to service time. In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Roger Grumley Boy’s and Girl’s Athletic Scholarship.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home for those wishing to contribute.
