Rose Marie Newcomb, 84, of Carrier Mills, Illinois, passed away on July 21, 2026, in Evansville, Indiana. Rose was born on January 1, 1942, in Sycamore, Illinois, to the late Walter and Marie (Heyob) Phillips. She dedicated many years of service as a custodian at Southeastern Illinois Community College, where she was known for her hard work and commitment. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Howard and Lisa (Tom) McGovern; her son, Walter "Gus" Harmon; her sister, Laura (Rick) Erd; her brothers, Gerald (Judy) Phillips and Raymond (Susan) Phillips; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom will cherish her memory. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Gina Kennedy. In accordance with Rose's wishes, she will be cremated, and no public services will be held.
