Ruth A. (Szabo) Reed

Ruth A. Reed, 79, resident of Eldorado passed away to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday, September 23, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Ruth was born August 26, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Joseph and Mary (Scervenyak) Szabo. She married Drexel Dee Reed who preceded her in death. She worked as a secretary at the Wrigley Building in Chicago and a cook at Ferrell Hospital prior to retirement. She was a member of the Eldorado Church of God. Ruth is survived by three daughters: Marjorie (Tim) Porter of Eldorado, Michelle (the late Bill) Duncan of Eldorado, Melissa (Lance) Feazel of Eldorado, three grandchildren: Reed Porter, Drew (Melissa) Porter, Gabe Porter and three great grandchildren: Paityn Olivia Porter, Dalton Drexel Porter and Jaden Drew Porter and nieces and nephews: David Marin, Deborah Woodward, Mark Szabo and Barbara Orris. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two siblings: Joey Szabo and Helen Marin, a son-in-law: Bill Duncan and a nephew Daniel Marin. Ruth was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2022 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Pastor Robert Murray officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery.
