Shawn Michael Murphy, 24, resident of Thompsonville passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Herrin Hospital. Shawn was born March 19, 1994 in Chicago to the late Douglas Volkert and Kathryn G. Finley who survives. In addition to his mother he is survived by a son: Grayson Carter Murphy of Akin and a sister: Heather Murphy of Harrisburg. In accordance with Shawns wishes, he will be cremated and a private service will be held by the family at a later date.
