Shirley Lou Brown Baker, 83, resident of Eldorado passed away at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana Monday, September 30, 2019. She was born January 10, 1936 to Iva Lee Tipitt Poshard and William Everett Brown in Broughton, Illinois. She graduated from Eldorado High School. She married Robert “Banky” Baker on April 4, 1954 where the lived and worked near Chicago until they returned to Eldorado in 1990. Shirley worked at Magnolia Care and volunteered at the Ferrell Hospital Gift Shop for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on November 12, 1992, her grandparents, Otto and Elizabeth Brown, Stella Emmons and Thomas Tipitt, brothers, James R. Poshard, Audry and LaVerne Brown, Daniel Everett Brown, two half sisters, Allena Bickett and Nadine Jones. She was a member of the Eldorado First Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters Robyn S. Baker and Michele Baker both of Eldorado, two granddaughters, Krystal Davis and Kara Boyd both of Eldorado, six great grandchildren that she loved very much, Jaidyn, Abby, Bentley, Ian, Blakelyn, Olivia, and one on the way, Everleigh Shirley-Sue. Also surviving is a sister, Bonnie Schrieber of Eldorado, a niece, Sherry Fisher who she was very close to and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Monday, October 7, 2019 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. Randy Plunkett officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 am to service time on Monday at the funeral home. As per her wishes, following the funeral services she will be cremated and burial will take place next to her husband in Gholson Cemetery near Broughton at a later date. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. RIP. A thank you to the doctors, nurses and all who helped in any way during her fight to survive.
