Stephen Lee Vinyard

Stephen Lee Vinyard born April 18th 1954 died July 2, 2025 in Mt Pleasant, North Carolina. Was preceded in death by his Father Robert Joseph Vinyard and Mother Norma Dodd Vinyard. Aunt Cathlene Parks, Uncle James Parks. Steve was born in Raleigh, Illinois and grew up in St; Louis, Missouri.  Steve was an avid fisherman and gardener.  He was a Navy Veteran spending his active duty on a Nuclear Submarine, USS George Washington Carver, SSB-656 as a Sonar Specialist. Ports were Groton CT and Rhoda Spain. While at sea they played tag with Russian Subs in the Atlantic Ocean.He was Honorably discharged.  Steve was then trained and educated in the trade of Welding where he built the Sky Light ceiling for the Carolina Mall in Charlotte, North Carolina and the tops of several buildings in downtown Charlotte. He leaves behind a sister Vicki Ray, Brother in Law Tom Ray of Charlotte, North Carolina.  Niece Christine Ray Morton, Matt Morton, great Nieces Hannah and Alyssa Morton Great Nephew Bryce Morton of Raleigh, North Carolina. Graveside Service to be held at Raleigh Masonic Cemetery on Wednesday November 5th at 10 am.
