Terry Lands

Terry Lands, 69, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on November 1, 1956, in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late Bill and JoAnn (Vaughn) Lands. Terry was a man of few words but had a heart of gold. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Becky; his children, Kelli Hathaway, Nicholas (Sara) Lands, and Zachary (Mercedes) Lands; and his beloved grandchildren—Zaine, Koral, Rylie, and Rhys Hathaway; Nora and Harrison Lands; and Ace and Haven Lands. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Bill Lands. Terry spent over 40 years in the coal mining industry and earned the respect of many. A lifelong Cubs fan, he took every season in stride, often saying, “There’s always next year.” He will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and the love he gave to his family.
