Vickie Susan Purdue Leffler, passed away suddenly on August 11th, 2024, at the age of 74 in Raleigh, IL. Born to Susan Darnel Hafley and Edgar Leffler on June 1st, 1950. Raised and lived her younger adult years in Louisville, Ky. Moving to Raleigh, IL, later in life. Her younger years were spent working in factories around the city like Mothers Cookies and G.E. In her 30’s she embarked on an amazing life's journey with the carnival industry where she would also meet her long-time life companion Harvey E. Miller. Together they built a small carnival game business with a target to put smiles on kids' faces across different states north, south, east and west, by helping them win small prizes. With a gentle spirit and huge heart towards others. If there was something she could do to help her fellow man she would surely try. To points at which it would even affect her life. This golden soul of a person never asked nor wanted recognition. We should all strive to be like this. She loved to bowl in a league, help with the care of others, volunteered at food pantries when she could, worked as an elections judge, and served on The Village of Raleigh Board Committee, and attended churches around the Raleigh area. There were no services or celebrations of life held. She was entombed with Harvey on August 21st, 2024, amazingly reunited on his birthday. She is survived by family and close friends in KY, IL, and MO. I did not list names for fear of accidentally leaving someone out in the grief it takes me to write this. My Mom was the world to me. My heart and my head will miss her love the rest of my life. I can only ever hope to be half the person she was in life, and that is probably asking too much for me to compare to.
