Virginia Louetta Prather Jones, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dedicated member of her community, passed away on the evening of September 11th, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was reunited with her husband, Rev. Bill Jones, and her son, David Roy Jones, both of whom she dearly missed. Their reunion brings comfort to our hearts as we remember her remarkable life. Virginia leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, survived by her cherished daughter, Landa (Mike) Stricklin, and her daughter-in-law, Jan Jones. She was a loving grandmother to Brian (Emily) Jones, Dustin (Jenna) Jones, Wesley Stricklin, and Timothy (Loren) Jones. Her love extended to her great-grandchildren Bailey Stricklin, Landen, Linus, Tavis, Louise, June, and Mae Jones as well along with numerous other family and friends. Virginia was not only a dedicated mother and grandmother but also a successful business owner, having run Bo-Ka Korner Flower Shop for 20 years. She was a devoted pastor's wife, offering her supportive direction and gift of song to those in need. Her caring nature radiated in every facet of her life, and she took great pride in her family, boldly stepping up to tackle any challenge that came her way. Virginia Louetta Prather Jones touched the lives of many with her kindness, dedication, and love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire us all. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 14th at 1 o'clock at Mt. Pleasant Social Brethren Church with Rev. Mark Finnie officiating. Visitation will be from 5 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, September 13th at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home and from 11:00 am to the service time on Thursday at the church.
