Zola Harris, 102, resident of Harrisburg passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehab Center in Metropolis. Zola was born August 5, 1918 in Hampton, KY to the late Clint and Pearl (Dickerson) McElmurry. On May 2, 1938 she married Rev. William Albert Harris who preceded her in death in 2002. Zola worked as a pastors wife and as an in home care giver. She has been a member of Sloan Street Baptist Church in Harrisburg since 1938. Zola is survived by two sons: Cliff Harris of Harrisburg, Stanley Harris of Eddyville, a daughter: Brenda (Dr. Tom) Bucinski of Harrisburg, grandchildren: Tara (Randy) Shaw of Norris City, Angie (Lyle) Markus of Metropolis, David Harris of Metropolis, Lucas (Erica) Harris of Lone Oak, KY, great grandchildren: Ashley Rison, Amber Volle, Cody Harris, Maisie Harris, Seth Harris, Nash Harris, Cray Harris, and a great great grandchild: Thea Rison. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three half brothers and two half sisters: John Riden, Wiley Riden, Homer Riden, Ruby Lane and Mary Dickie. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Monday, January 25, 2021 at Sunset Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Alexander officiating. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery.
