Donald Joseph Mauterer, 82, resident of Eldorado passed away Sunday August 7, 2016 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. Don was born August 8, 1933 in Belleville, Illinois to the late John and Meta (Seelman) Mauterer. On April 19, 1963 he married the former Myra Jane Sharrock who survives. Don served in the US Army as a Military Policeman during the Korean war. Don had a love for baseball. He was a member and past president of the Herrin, Illinois Kiwanis Club, member and past president of the Eldorado Rotary Club and a member of the Harrisburg Elks Lodge. In addition to his wife Myra, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law; Gregory and Tawana, two grandchildren; Brittney and Benjamin and three are
at grandchildren; Evan, Ethan and Eric and four nieces. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Roger. Don was cremated at his request and a memorial service will be held at 11:00am Friday, August 12, 2016 at Valhalla Cemetery in Belleville. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery. Colonial Terrace Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
