Dycus Lee Tison

October 21, 1931 ~ October 17, 2015 (age 83) 83 Years Old

Dycus Lee Tison, 83, resident of Harrisburg passed away Saturday at the VA Medical Center in Marion. He was born October 21, 1931 to the late Delmas Tison and Pauline (Overton). Dycus served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After his service he graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He relocated to California and worked for Mc Donald Douglas on the Skylab program. Upon returning to southern Illinois he co- owned and operated Tison and Hall in Harrisburg prior to retirement.  In addition to his wife Rosalie, he is survived by two daughters; Leeann (Brett) Denny of Eldorado, Lori (Jeff) Denny of Harrisburg, a granddaughter; Tara (Nathan) Taylor of Carterville, two great grandchildren; Garrett and Katelyn Taylor and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother; James Robert Tison and two sisters; Linda Bottomley and Mary Ellen Bailey. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Rev. Art Watson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday 11:00 am to service time.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Oak Grove Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
